While Orientation courses are not a substitute for full AMI diploma training, they offer a meaningful introduction to the principles and practices of Montessori education—and a deeper understanding of how to support Montessori environments.

These courses are ideal for administrators, school support staff, classroom assistants, and parents. For many, an Orientation is the perfect first step in their Montessori journey.

The Montessori Institute offers an AMI Orientation course for 0–3 (Assistants to Infancy)

Each Orientation is a 60-hour certificated course that blends Montessori theory with practical application tailored to the developmental needs of each age group. Coursework includes a combination of live (online or in-person) sessions, recorded lectures, and required observations and assignments.

Upon completion, students receive an AMI Orientation Certificate.

Orientations earn 6 CEU Hours through Loyola University! Ask for details once you have signed up.

Diploma Courses Application Fee Waived If you attend an Orientation through The Montessori Institute.

“The TMI Orientation was a great way for me to get a deeper understanding of Montessori values and philosophy. I also received practice and support with observations in a Montessori classroom, helping me to be a stronger instructional leader for our staff.”
