Orientations

(Formerly known as the AMI Assistants’ Course - Ami changed the name when it realized that everyone connected to children, including assistants, can benefit from taking these courses)

The Montessori Institute offers the AMI Orientation courses at the levels of 0-3 Assistants to Infancy, 3-6 Primary, and 6-12 Elementary. Orientations are 60 hour certificated courses that include both theory presentations and discussion regarding practical application for that level. The 60 hours is divided between synchronous online or in-person classes, and asynchronous recordings along with required observation and assignments. Orientations are not a substitute for diploma training, but they are an excellent way to more deeply understand the hows and whys of Montessori education, and how best to support Montessori schools and classrooms. If you are an administrator, school support staff member, classroom assistant, or interested parent, taking an Orientation might be the perfect first step in your Montessori journey. Upon completion, students receive an AMI Orientation Certificate.

Orientations cost $850 for individuals.
For schools sending 3 or more, the group rate is $700 per attendee.

We provide discounts for schools sending multiple participants. Please email us at tmiami@mac.com to for more information.

A public school principal recently shared:

“The TMI Elementary Orientation was a great way for me to get a deeper understanding of Montessori values and philosophy. I also received practice and support with observations in a Montessori classroom, helping me to be a stronger instructional leader for our staff.”
