Judith A. Orion, M.A.

Co-Director of Training for Assistants to Infancy, holds the AMI Primary (3-6) diploma and received her Assistants to Infancy (0-3) diploma at the first AMI training for that level, given in Rome. Judi has conducted Primary and Infancy Montessori classes and is a trainer, examiner, and consultant at both levels. She conducts teacher training internationally and is a national and international seminar presenter at Montessori conferences. Judi is an adjunct faculty member of Loyola University in Maryland.

Karey M. Lontz, M.A.

Co-Director of Training for Assistants to Infancy, holds AMI diplomas for the 0-3 and 3-6 levels. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Advertising from The University of Georgia and a Masters in Montessori Education from Loyola. She has worked in the National and International Montessori community since 1998 conducting workshops, trainings, consultations and conferences. Karey is an AMI examiner, AMI consultant and an adjunct professor at Loyola University in Maryland.

Erin Smith, M.A.

AMI Assistants to Infancy Trainer, holds AMI diplomas for 0-3 and 3-6. She has an M.Ed. in Montessori Education from Loyola University in Maryland and a BA in English from the University of Mary Washington. Erin has worked in Montessori schools for sixteen years as an Assistant, a Teacher, and an Instructional Coach. She has facilitated Parent-Infant and Prenatal classes as well as Parent workshops. Erin is an AMI consultant and has worked on A to I Diploma and 0-3 Assistant Certificate courses in the US, Europe and Asia.

Anne Ursery,
Administrator

Anne earned her AMI Primary diploma in 2007. She holds a BA in French from the University of Oregon. Anne has worked in the Montessori field for 13 years as an Assistant, a Guide, and Course Assistant on an AMI Primary training course. She has worked at The Montessori Institute since 2015.

Susan Callin,
Material Making support

Susan earned her AMI Primary diploma in 1970. She holds a BA in Psychology and Sociology from Mary Washington College. Susan taught Primary Montessori for 35 years before retiring from the classroom in 2006. For most of those years she has also come to Denver in the summers to assist at TMI with whatever needs to be done--mainly material-making!

Lara Wallace,
administrative assistant

Lara holds an AMI Elementary diploma for 6-12. She has an M.Ed. in Montessori Education from Loyola University in Maryland and a BA in Sociology from the University of Colorado. Lara has worked in Montessori schools for twelve years as an Assistant, a Teacher, and a Mentor. She has worked at The Montessori Institute since 2008.

Karla norgaard,
material Making Instructor

Karla holds AMI diplomas for the 0-3 and 3-6 levels. She has an M.Ed in Montessori Education from Loyola University in Maryland and a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Syracuse University. Karla has eight years of experience working in Montessori schools at the Nido, Infant Community, and Primary levels. She has been sewing since high school and has been making Montessori materials since she attended her Primary training in 2004.

Canine Assistant Trainer

Penny has been assisting 0-3 courses since 2007 and has supported over 300 students in obtaining their Assistants to Infancy diploma. In her spare time she enjoys life coaching, getting snuggles and drinking bone broth.
